Wizards take Tomas Satoransky in second round

The Washington Wizards went overseas with their final pick of the 2012 NBA draft as they grabbed Czech guard Tomas Satoransky with the second selection of the second round.

The 20-year-old is 6-foot-8 and averaged 4.8 points and 1.4 assists last season while playing professionally in Spain for Cajasol Sevilla.

At the European Division B Championships in 2008, he averaged 16.1 points and 7.2 rebounds for the Czech Republic, which finished second.

Earlier in the night, the Wizards selected Florida guard Bradley Beal. Beal averaged 14.6 points per game last season as a freshman at Florida. He’s known to be a solid three-point shooter, with a broad 6-foot-4 frame that helps him penetrate.

Draft day also marked Beal’s 19th birthday.

"This is by far the best birthday I've had. It really beats all the presents my mom and dad ever got me," Beal said.
