One day after the Washington Wizards announced their 2013-14 regular season schedule, the team announced its seven-game preseason schedule. The Wizards will play two preseason games at Verizon Center and one in Baltimore, plus games in Rio de Janiero; Lexington, Ky.; Auburn Hills, Mich.; and Cincinnati.
Oct. 8: Brooklyn, 7 (Verizon Center)
Oct. 12: Chicago, 5 (HSBC Arena, Rio de Janiero)
Oct. 15: Miami, 7 (Verizon Center)
Oct. 17: New York, 7 (Baltimore Arena)
Oct. 19: New Orleans, 7 (Rupp Arena, Lexington, Ky.)
Oct. 22: at Detroit, 7:30 (Palace of Auburn Hills)

The contest against the Knicks will be the Wizards’ first game in Baltimore, where the franchise was located from 1963 to 1973, since a preseason game in 1999. The game against the Bulls in Rio also will be a homecoming of sorts for Wizards big man Nene, who hails from Brazil. Plus, John Wall returns to Kentucky, where he played one season of college basketball, to play against the Pelicans’ Anthony Davis and Darius Miller, who also played for the Wildcats.
