Dwyane Wade has been to the White House so many times over the years that he has been able to establish a personal relationship with President Obama. When the Miami Heat paid a visit on Tuesday, Obama asked Wade if he had set a date for his wedding to actress Gabrielle Union.

“I said, ‘It ain’t like you coming anyway,’ ” Wade said before the Wizards hosted Miami at Verizon Center. “He said, ‘You wouldn’t want me there.’ It’s cool to have that kind of back and forth with the President…It’s crazy to even say that.”

Miami has been in Washington for a few days, taking time to reflect on their second NBA championship. LeBron James said he couldn’t take the experience for granted.

“You never get used to it,” James said. “I was very humbled and honored to be a part of such a great ceremony. You don’t ever take that for granted, that this is my life, I’m here now and this is how it should be. It shouldn’t be this way and I’m happy to be a part of it.”

The Wizards (17-19) will attempt to snap a four-game home losing streak against the Heat. Miami has lost two in a row on the road.
