OAKLAND, Calif. – The Wizards will attempt to snap a six-game losing streak against the Golden State Warriors. They have not won at Oracle Arena since Dec. 18, 2009.
Golden State defeated the Wizards, 112-96, when the teams met on Jan. 5 at Verizon Center. Bur Warriors Coach Mark Jackson believes that his team will have a challenge trying to duplicate that lopsided victory in the rematch.
“A well-coached team that plays hard,” Jackson said. “They have guys in the starting lineup that are capable of having big nights individually. John Wall should be an All-Star. One of the best backcourts in basketball with [Bradley] Beal’s ability to shoot and play out the pick-and-roll. Trevor Ariza can stretch the floor from three point range, he can defend and finish. Nene, now starting, has the ability to post-up and make you pay defensively. Marcin Gortat, who can pick-and-pop as a big man and is underrated.”
