The Wizards announced an eight-game preseason schedule Monday that opens against the Bulls in Chicago and includes a home game in Baltimore for the second straight year.
The slate kicks off with a trip to United Center to face the Bulls Oct. 6. The Wizards defeated the Bulls in the first round of the playoffs last season; former most valuable player Derrick Rose will be in a Bulls uniform since suffering a second major knee injury last November.
Washington then travels to Jacksonville, Fla., to play the New Orleans Pelicans on Oct. 8 and to Greenville, S.C., on Oct. 10 to take on the Charlotte Hornets.
The Wizards begin a three-game stretch at Verizon Center Oct. 12, when they host the Detroit Pistons. Maccabi Haifa, runner-up in the Israeli Basketball Super League last season, visits the District Oct. 15 and the Hornets follow on Oct. 17.
Baltimore Arena will host the Wizards’ final home game Oct. 20 against the Pelicans for the second annual Baltimore Classic. Before last year the Wizards had not played in Baltimore since 1999.
The Wizards’ preseason wraps up against the Knicks at Madison Square Garden Oct. 22.
