Lunch break: The world’s first mobile phone (1922)
British film archives unearthed a 1922 film reel that shows what may be the first mobile phone—or at least the first one caught on tape. The film, “Eve’s Wireless,” shows two women carrying the device down the street and opening an umbrella to get reception, the London Telegraph reports. Apparently, people were experimenting with such technology as early as the 1910s and 1920s.
