Surprising video shows Syrian Internet connections dropping one by one

Syria is almost entirely cut off from the Internet for a second day because of what appears to be a deliberate shutting down of routers.

The video below, via Cloudflare, shows Internet paths out of Syria being shuttered one by one:

The hacker collective Anonymous, which has threatened to retaliate against the Syrian government, "concluded that the Syrian regime has physically severed the fiber-optic and coaxial cables coming into Syria. Essentially, they have physically 'pulled the plug out of the wall'"

Several tech bloggers have pointed out that a similar blackout by the Egyptian government took place during the uprising there last year, but that didn't stop revolutionaries from toppling then-President Hosni Mubarak.
