After days of rockets fired into Israel and missile launches into Gaza, there was hope for an end to the conflict between the Israel Defense Forces and Hamas. That hope was quickly deteriorated. Here's a breakdown of what happened:

Egypt proposes a cease-fire.

Which was accepted by Israel, only if Hamas ceased rocket launches.

Hamas hadn't accepted the terms.

According to a Hamas spokesperson, the group wasn't consulted.

Rockets continue to be launched into Israel.

Israel ends the cease-fire and continues its military operations in Gaza.

It was the cease-fire that never was.
