Blinder Says U.S. Economy Is `Weak, Not Catastrophic'

Oct. 19, 2011 - Oct. 19 (Bloomberg) -- Former Federal Reserve Vice Chairman Alan Blinder, an economics professor at Princeton University, talks about the Fed Beige book survey and the outlook for the U.S. economy. The Fed said consumer spending rose slightly last month and the economy maintained its expansion, even as companies reported more doubt about the strength of the recovery.
