Several issues affecting start-ups and small businesses — including federal spending cuts, a proposed minimum wage hike and reforms to immigration and health care — are still up in the air as policymakers in Washington hash out the specifics. The economy has not exactly been friendly either, complicating the search for capital.
Entrepreneurs hoping to plan for the future likely won’t get clarity on these policies any time soon. Many have had to be creative to navigate the obstacles, finding new ways to get by on less, while still finding ways to grow.
