Washington area business diary for week of June 25

Acquisitions

Wyomissing, Pa.-based Customers Bancorp said it will acquire Falls Church-based Acacia Federal Savings Bank from Lincoln, Neb.-based Ameritas Mutual Holding Co. in a $65 million deal.

Arlington-based professionals services and IT company CACI International said it has agreed to acquire Reston-based management and IT company Delta Solutions and Technologies. Terms were not disclosed, but the acquisition is expected to close by July 1.

Mission Hills, Calif.-based tech company Unicom Systems said it has completed its previously announced acquisition of Herndon-based IT contractor GTSI.

Contracts

Sterling-based telecommunications company Neustar said it has been awarded a five-year contract by the FCC to continue as the North American Numbering Plan administrator.

Expansions

South Africa-based restaurant chain Nando’s has opened a Nando’s Peri-Peri at 1301 S. Joyce St. in the Pentagon Row shopping center in Arlington.

St. Louis-based Savvis said it has added 45,000 square feet to its DC4 data center in Sterling.

Interior designer Lori Graham, a former corporate attorney with the Washington office of Sonnenschein Nath & Rosenthal, is opening a furniture showroom at 1412 14th St. NW.

Funding

Silver Spring-based Choice Hotels International announced it plans a $400 million offering of unsecured, unsubordinated senior notes due in 2022. The company said it plans to use the proceeds, along with a portion of an expected senior secured credit facility, to pay a special cash dividend of $600 million to stockholders, pending approval from its board of directors.

Mergers

District-based private equity firm Acon Investments said it has merged its Fairway Outdoor Advertising portfolio company with New York-based private equity firm MidOcean Partner’s Olympus Media portfolio company. The combined company, Fairway Media Group, creates the nation’s fourth largest outdoor advertising company, the firms said.

New products & services

Lorton-based forensic DNA services company Bode Technology said it is now offering a same-day DNA analysis service.
