Washington area business events: Week of Aug. 20

The Loudoun County Chamber of Commerce’s Women in Business Committee is holding a fall fashion show Tuesday called “Through the Looking Glass: Reflecting the Right Image.”

Angie Goff of WRC-TV NBC Washington and Annette Harris, president of Centreville-based Harris ImageWorks, are to be the emcees.

Local business owners are to hit the runway wearing clothing provided by Altar’d State and Ebrada Atelier, both of Leesburg.

The show begins at 5:30 p.m. at the Belmont Country Club, 43750 Tournament Pkwy., Ashburn. $35 for members, $50 for everyone else.

The Rockville Women’s Business Center is holding a workshop on how to write a business plan. The class begins at 9:30 a.m. at the center, 95 Monroe St., Rockville. $25.

BioBuzz Rockville is holding a networking session for those in the biotech industry. The event begins at 4:30 p.m. at Stella, 9755 Traville Gateway Dr., Rockville.

The Washington Network Group and the Society for International Development are hosting a networking reception for international development professionals. The event begins at 6 p.m. at Lima Restaurant, Bar & Lounge’s private reception room, 1401 K St. NW. $15 for members, $30 for everyone else.

The Fairfax Chamber of Commerce is holding a charity karaoke sing-off to benefit Fairfax County Public Schools. The event begins at 6 p.m. at the Barns at Wolf Trap, 1635 Trap Rd., Vienna. $75.
