Washington area business events: Week of June 18

For more than 25 years, the accounting and professional services firm Ernst & Young has been honoring entrepreneurs for innovation, expansion and job creation.

This year’s Entrepreneur of the Year awards gala for the Washington region is Thursday, beginning at 6 p.m. with a cocktail reception with the finalists’ parade and dinner starting at 7 p.m.

The black-tie event takes place at the Ritz-Carlton Tysons Corner, 1700 Tysons Blvd., in McLean. $390.

Wednesday, June 20

The Fairfax County Chamber of Commerce’s Annual Chairman’s Luncheon starts at 11:30 a.m. at the Hilton McLean Tysons Corner, 7920 Jones Branch Dr., McLean. The chamber’s 2012 Outstanding Corporate Citizenship Awards are to be presented during the event. $100 for members, $125 for everyone else.

Thursday, June 21

The D.C. Chamber of Commerce is hosting a panel discussion led by D.C. Mayor Vincent Gray (D) on health care reform and its impact on Washington’s business community. The event begins at 4 p.m. at CareFirst, 840 First St. NE. $75 for chamber members, $150 for everyone else.
