What to watch: Week of Jan. 7

Terry McAuliffe, founder and chairman of McLean-based GreenTech Automotive, is to be the guest speaker at the Green Energy Business Seminar & Trade Show on Wednesday.

The half-day event, sponsored by District-based green energy consulting firm Relerience, is to focus on financial savings, capital access and revenue growth in connection with energy management and green energy strategies.

The seminar and trade show is to take place at the Mason Inn Conference Center and Hotel, 4352 Mason Pond Dr., Fairfax. $55.

The Loudoun County Chamber of Commerce’s January Business Showcase Breakfast begins at 7:30 a.m. at the Belmont Country Club, 43750 Tournament Pkwy., Ashburn. $25 for members, $35 for everyone else.

The Rockville Women’s Business Center is offering a seminar on the “ABCs of Starting a Business” at 10 a.m. at its offices at 95 Monroe St., Rockville. $10.

The Public Relations Society of America is offering a program on “How to Better Brand Yourself Online.” Jonathan Rick, president of District-based digital communications firm Jonathan Rick Group, is to be the speaker. The event begins at 11:30 a.m. at the Embassy Suites, 8517 Leesburg Pike, Vienna. $33 for members, $43 for everyone else.

The e-WomenNetwork of Montgomery County is offering a networking luncheon at 11:30 a.m. at the Lakewood Country Club, 13901 Glen Mill Rd., Rockville. $65 for members, $95 for everyone else.

The Prince George’s Chamber of Commerce and the Greater Bowie Chamber of Commerce are teaming to host a discussion on “Health Care Reform & the Business Community. Danielle Davis of Maryland Health Connection and Vincent DeMarco of Health Care for All – Maryland Citizens’ Health Initiative, are the guest speakers. The event begins at 11:30 a.m. at Rips Country Inn, 3809 Crain Hwy., Bowie. $30 for members, $35 for everyone else.

The Alexandria Chamber of Commerce’s New Year’s Merry Membership Event begins at 5:30 p.m. at Mango Mike’s 4580 Duke St., Alexandria. $20 in advance, $30 at the door.

The Washington International Trade Association’s annual holiday party starts at 6 p.m. at the Dupont Circle Hotel, 1500 New Hampshire Ave. NW. Free for members, $100 for everyone else.
