What to Watch: Week of June 16

The Mid-Atlantic Venture Association is holding the second of three TechBuzz events Wednesday.

The group will shine a spotlight on 20 of the region’s early-stage technology companies to an audience of investors and other entrepreneurs.

The half-day events begins at 1 p.m. at AOL’s Seriff Auditorium, 44900 Prentice Dr., Dulles. Admission ranges from free for some MAVA members to $195 for everyone else.

The Fairfax Chamber of Commerce is holding its annual Outstanding Corporate Citizenship Awards luncheon. The event begins at 11:30 a.m. at the Hilton McLean Tysons Corner, 7920 Jones Branch Dr., McLean. $100 for members, $125 for everyone else.

Wednesday, June 18

The Fairfax County Economic Development Agency is offering a seminar on business-to-business marketing for small businesses. The event begins at 7:30 a.m. at the FCEDA offices at 800 Boone Blvd., Suite 450, Tysons Corner. Free.

The D.C. Chamber of Commerce is holding a session on “Insights of Government Project Management.” Speakers include Charles Sills of Trillacorpe Construction, Darren Moore of Smith-Charles Associates and Sara Guice of CRB & Associates. The event begins at 9 a.m. at the chamber’s offices at 506 Ninth St. NW. Free.

The Loudoun County Chamber of Commerce plays host to Virginia Gov. Terry McAuliffe (D), who will speak at the chamber’s luncheon. The event begins at 11:30 a.m. at the National Conference Center, 18980 Upper Belmont Pl., Leesburg. $45 for members, $60 for everyone else.
