Occupy Boston protesters react to the news that they will not be evicted from their encampment. Boston Mayor Thomas M. Menino set a midnight deadline for Occupy Boston protesters to leave their downtown encampment in Dudley Square, or face eviction. In response, many of the protesters chose to take down their tents, and by the midnight deadline much of the camp was gone. About 1:15 a.m. Dec. 9, the Boston police announced that they would not evict the protesters from Dudley Square. Protesters took to the street in celebration, and further protest.
