Poverty rate up, household income down
After dipping to 11.3 percent in 2000, the U.S. poverty rate was 15.1 percent in 2010. The last time it reached that level was in 1993. Median household income in 2010 was higher than it was in 1967 but was at its lowest point since 1997. Read related article.
