Understanding the sequester
Most Americans expect the automatic spending cuts set to begin Friday to have a big effect on the economy and the military. And more say they would blame Republicans, rather than President Obama, should the sequester take effect — although the president’s advantage is slimmer than the one he held ahead of the “fiscal cliff.” But few are following the issue very closely or fully understand the implications of the planned cuts.
