As Eastman Kodak Co. faces a possible bankruptcy, a look at other companies that have trod the path from a Dow Jones Industrial Average listing to mere memory.

Mack Trucks

A Mack truck and the company's mascot symbol sit outside the company's headquarters in Allentown, Pa. The Dow Jones Inustrial Average selected Mack Trucks as a component in 1924. It dropped the company in 1930. Mack Trucks was later bought by Volvo.

Victor Talking Machine Co.

The ubiquitious logo of the Victor Talking Machine Co. — a dog listening to a gramaphone — graced records like the "The Wandering Boy," recorded on Aug. 2, 1927, by The Carter Family. The Victor Talking Machine Co. appeared on the DJIA for one year in 1928.

Remington Typewriter

The late W.C. "Bill" Heinz showed his 1932 Remington typewriter at his home in Bennington, Vt., on Nov. 7, 2002. Heinz, an author, sportswriter and war correspondent, used the typewriter in World War II to write about the Allied invasion of France.

Woolworth
