The Fiat 500 Turbo aims for the sweet spot between the relatively hardcore Abarth and the standard 500: More pep, less harshness. It does it all for a starting price of just $20,200, making its made its debut at the Concorso Italiano this week.

Whether the Fiat 500 Turbo will meet your needs in its stock form--that being 135 horsepower and 150 pound-feet of torque from its turbocharged 1.4-liter MultiAir engine--it might just be the blank canvas you've been looking for. And that's how Fiat is pitching it to the media, and, presumably, soon to customers.

As a canvas, it's essentially an Abarth powertrain without the overboost function, dropped into a standard 500 body and cabin, with a slightly upgraded suspension. That is a great combo for the modifier at heart, or anyone looking to turn a new 500 into a track car.
