Sergio Marchionne Gives Up His Dodge Challenger SRT8 For Charity

As someone who’s owned a few Ferraris and Maseratis over the years, including an Enzo supercar, Sergio Marchionne, the CEO of Fiat and Chrysler, prefers driving American muscle when he’s on duty in the states.

His choice of ride for getting around suburban Detroit is this murdered-out 2011 Dodge Challenger SRT8 392, though he’ll soon be shopping for a new car as he’s graciously donated this one for charity.

The special Challenger, which features a few of Marchionne’s own custom details, plus his autograph, will be sold at a Barrett-Jackson auction taking place in Palm Beach, Florida between April 4 and 6.

The highest bidder will not only receive the car but also Mopar’s latest crate engine, a Gen III 426 Hemi V-8 rated at 540 horsepower and 530 pound-feet of torque.

Clearly Marchionne doesn’t want the car’s new owner to be upset if the standard V-8’s 470 horsepower and 470 pound-feet of torque isn’t sufficient.

Some of the custom touches include Dark Charcoal racing stripes that were hand laid by the designers at SRT, smoked tail-lights, blacked-out badges, lowered suspension with adjustable coil-overs from Mopar, and a high-flow exhaust system. The stock 20-inch aluminum wheels were also given a matte black finish to complete the sinister look.

Inside, Marchionne chose black leather  for the seats and embroidered on these are SRT and 392 logos.

All proceeds from the sale of the car will go to benefit the United Way for Southeastern Michigan community group.
