Mrs. Debra Myers, Frederick County Public Schools
Debra Myers has been with the Frederick County Public School system in Maryland for over 20 years. Mrs. Myers began her career there as an elementary school teacher. Her leadership career began in 1987 as an assistant principal at East Frederick Elementary in Frederick. She then served as an assistant principal at Spring Ridge Elementary, also in Frederick. Mrs. Myers became principal of Monocacy Elementary in Frederick in 1997 and she assumed her current position as principal of Thurmont Primary School in 2000. She earned her BS from Millersville University in Millersville, Penn. and her MEd from Bucknell University in Lewisburg, Penn.
Mrs. Frances Nussle, Anne Arundel County Public Schools
Frances Nussle is the principal of Linthicum Elementary School in Linthicum, Md. Prior to joining the faculty at Linthicum, Mrs. Nussle was the assistant principal of Meade Heights Elementary School in Fort Meade, Md. She worked as the Anne Arundel County gifted and talented resource teacher from 2000 to 2003. Mrs. Nussle began her education career as an elementary school teacher. She earned her bachelors degree from Towson University in Towson, Md. and her MEd from Loyola College in Baltimore, Md.
Dr. Lisa Piehota, Arlington Public Schools
Lisa Piehota served in the Air Force prior to starting her career in education. After serving in the Air Force, Dr. Piehota taught first grade, then sixth and fifth grades before becoming vice-principal at Franklin Elementary School in Franklin, N.J. She then became principal at Thomas Jefferson Middle School in Rockway Burough, N.J. Dr. Piehota served as a principal and then superintendent of the Netcong School District in Netcong, N.J. She became principal at Patrick Henry Elementary School in Arlington in 2002. Dr. Piehota earned her BS from Florida State University in Tallahassee, Fla. She earned her MS and EdD from Nova Southeastern University in Ft. Lauderdale, Fla.
Mrs. Diedra Tramel, Prince George's County Public Schools
Diedra Tramel is the principal of Frances Fuchs Early Childhood Center in Beltsville, Md. Mrs. Tramel has held this position since 2001. Prior to joining the faculty at Frances Fuchs ECC, she was the special education coordinator at Catherine T. Reed Elementary School in Lanham, Md. Mrs. Tramel earned her BS from Oakwood University in Huntsville, Ala. and her MA from Ohio State University in Columbus, Ohio.
Mr. Thomas Weirich, Charles County Public Schools
Thomas Weirich has been with Charles County Public Schools in Maryland since 1964. Mr. Weirich began his career as a physical education teacher. He served as an assistant principal and principal before joining the central office in Charles County for four years. Mr. Weirich then became the coordinator for alternative programs at F.B. Gwynn Educational Center in La Plata. After that he worked as the coordinator and then principal of Radio Station Road Academy, also in La Plata. Mr. Weirich became the principal of Robert D. Stethem Educational Center in Pomfret in 2005. He earned his BS from Millersville State University and his MA from Appalachian State University in Boone, N.C.
Ms. Liz Whisnant, District of Columbia Public Schools
Liz Whisnant began her career as a fifth grade teacher at The Potomac School in Potomac, Md. Ms. Whisnant continued her career in education as a teacher in Massachusetts and North Carolina. While in North Carolina, Ms. Whisnant became an assistant principal and principal before becoming the Founding Academic Dean at Trinity Episcopal School in Charlotte, N.C. She became the principal of Horace Mann Elementary School in Washington, D.C. in 2005. Ms. Wisnant earned her AB from Harvard University and her MEd from Lesley University, both in Cambridge, Mass.
