The Post, WABJ Congratulate the 2014 class of Urban Journalism Workshop students

June 24, 2014

The 28th annual Urban Journalism Workshop (UJW), sponsored by the Washington Association of Black Journalists in partnership with The Washington Post’s Young Journalists Development Program concluded on June 21 with more than 50 young journalists, parents, mentors and friends attending a student showcase at The Post.

Since its inception in 1986, UJW has introduced hundreds of D.C.-area high school students to media careers through an intensive skills-building workshop held each spring for eight weeks.

During the workshop series, students work with professional journalists to produce a newspaper, a radio newsmagazine and television news broadcast, as well as Web-only features for the workshop’s website, www.ujwonline.org.
