The Washington Post YJDP Awards Winners Announced

First annual program honors recipients for excellence in high school journalism

The Washington Post YJDP Awards were launched to recognize excellence in journalism, focus attention on quality scholastic journalism, and raise awareness about the importance of comprehensive high school journalism programs.

Winners were chosen by a selection committee consisting of mentors and reporters from The Washington Post.

We received numerous entries for the four award categories from qualified candidate and our judges had the difficult task of choosing only one winner for each award.

Winners will receive automatic acceptance into select 2012-13 YJDP programs, mentoring opportunities with Post reporters.

The Post expects the awards program to continue to grow in scope over the years with the addition of new award categories.
