Veterinarian Tzahi Eisenberg prepares green sea turtle Dustin for surgery at his clinic in Rehovot, near Tel Aviv. Dustin was found floating bottom-up at sea some six months ago. The turtle underwent surgery after a CT scan revealed that it suffers from intestinal blockages and trapped air that may be causing loss of balance. It is in recovery, but may need additional surgery.

She sleeps more than 15 hours a day and spends virtually all of her time in the trees of her habitat. JoJo, 32, arrived at Brookfield from Chicago's Lincoln Park Zoo as part of a breeding program for the critically endangered western lowland gorilla subspecies. The Aspinall Foundation combined forces with the Tusk Trust and the George Adamson Trust to stage a rare translocation of three captive-born black rhinoceros to Mkomazi National Park on June 17, an effort to rejuvenate the black rhino of the area. The three animals, Grumeti, Monduli and Zawadi, were donated by Damian Aspinall, chairman of the Aspinall Foundation, from their breeding group at Port Lympne Wild Animal Park in Kent, England.
