Campus visit debate: which side are you on?

I have advocated for years the relaxed approach to campus visits. Don’t bring a clipboard. Don’t try to interview professors. Don’t ask too many questions at the brief introduction. Instead, have fun, get a meal, enjoy the scenery. Remember you are on vacation. Save the hard questions for next April, after you know for sure the school has admitted you. Others tell me my approach is naive and lazy, a big waster of precious time on campus. Who is right?
