Bronco, a German shepherd who joined the sheriff's office in 2009, escaped from a groomer near downtown Leesburg on Dec. 21. Using social media, the sheriff's office put out the word about the missing dog. Eventually someone found him about nine miles away near the town of Hamilton, very dehydrated and having lost 11 pounds. He was taken to a vet to be checked out before being sent home to recuperate.
