Google Search as Smoking Gun?
Can’t prove a negative, can’t be positive, now what? “I have been seeing a man for a year and, up until now, he’s behaved in a completely trustworthy manner.
“Two weeks ago I was using his computer and came across a Google search for strippers, escorts and prostitutes in a town where he was on a short business trip. I confronted him about it and he basically said he didn’t know why he’d done this search, but that he had not called or contacted anyone. He also said he has never visited an escort or prostitute and has no desire to do so.
“It’s really shaken my trust and I can’t get it out of my head now. I worry that he’s lying to me, that maybe he does visit escorts or prostitutes, even in our town. I feel like I can’t move forward in the relationship while I am tormented by these suspicions, but I don’t know how to resolve them, either. As he pointed out, there is no way for him to prove that he didn’t do anything.
“Am I a fool to believe him? Or a fool not to believe him?”
What would you do in this situation?
