Delbert Craig, driving tractor, shows visitors the drought damage to the pasture on his farm near Goreville, Ill. The farm was one of several in southern Illinois that were visited by Karis Gutter and other officials from the U.S. Department of Agriculture. Seventy percent of Illinois, the nation's No. 2 corn-producing state, is classified as experiencing some level of drought. Craig raises crops and beef cattle on the farm, which he bought in 1960.
