Teenager misses mom! Film at 11.

For your consideration: “I am a 19 year old girl. My mom and I used to be close but the last couple of years have been very rocky for us. It seems like she is always gone, and when she is home she is very grumpy. We also get into a lot of disagreements. Usually if we are together, one of us walks away mad, and sometimes both do. I want to have a close relationship with my mom but I have no clue how to make that happen. Any advice?”

This is way too general a question for me to address in my column, but I’m thinking that a variety of hunches, opinions and experiences would give cusp-of-adulthood kids something to consider as they navigate changing relationships with parents.
