David Alpert part of The Post’s Local Blog Network. He is the founder and editor of Greater Greater Washington, a Web site focusing on urban planning, transit, smart growth, pedestrian safety, bicycling, zoning, historic preservation and other issues that affect the D.C. metropolitan area. He is also the D.C. vice chairman for the WMATA Riders’ Advisory Council and a member of the D.C. Pedestrian Advisory Council. A native of Massachusetts, he lived in California and New York before settling in the Dupont Circle neighborhood with his wife, Stefanie.
