TV highlights: ‘Crossbones’ premieres on NBC

“Dateline NBC” (NBC at 8 p.m.) investigates the story of Leslie and Fred Mueller. The couple were married for nearly 27 years, but after a weekend away at their cabin in Utah, Leslie was found dead and her husband was a leading suspect.

SERIES PREMIERE: “Marriage Boot Camp: Reality Stars” (WE tv at 9) follows celebrity couples Jenni “JWoww” Farley and Roger Matthews (“Jersey Shore”), Trista and Ryan Sutter (“The Bachelor”/ “The Bachelorette”), Gretchen Rossi and Slade Smiley (“The Real Housewives of Orange County”), Traci Braxton and Kevin Surratt (“Braxton Family Values”), and Tanisha Thomas and Clive Muir (“Bad Girls Club”) as they go through an emotional and physical training course for their marriages.

“Say Yes to the Dress: The Big Day” (TLC at 9) introduces us to Sheena and her controlling mother, who is hijacking her daughter’s dream Indian wedding.

SERIES PREMIERE: Six millionaires ditch their fancy cars, homes and salaries to find their soulmate on “Mystery Millionaire” (WE tv at 10).

SERIES PREMIERE: The unpredictable John Malkovich stars as the diabolical pirate Blackbeard in “Crossbones” (NBC at 10), in which it’s 1715 on the Bahamian island of New Providence and Blackbeard reigns over a rogue nation of thieves, outlaws and miscreant sailors.

“Diners, Drive-Ins and Dives” (Food at 10) hits the beach with Buffalo-style pig wings in Miami, chicken chilaquiles in Orange County, Calif., and huli huli chicken in Oahu, Hawaii.

An hour of “I Found the Gown” (TLC at 10) brings us a woman in search of a black wedding dress and another bride looking for a blue gown, and her family is not too pleased with the idea.

RETURNING SHOW: Reviewed by TV critic Hank Stuever on Page C3, “Derek” (Netflix) returns for Season 2 with more mockumentary-style hijinks from a gentle man working at an old folks’ home.

Actor Kevin Bacon and animal expert Jeff Musial come to “The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon” (NBC at 11:35), with musical guest Ty Dolla $ign.

Actress Shailene Woodley is on the “Late Show With David Letterman” (CBS at 11:35), with Peyton Manning of the Denver Broncos.

Actors Adam Sandler and Elle Fanning stop by “Jimmy Kimmel Live” (ABC at 11:35), along with a musical performance from Lykke Li.
