Styles: Pretty Girls Make People Buy Stuff

Photo courtesy JordacheNOTHING EMBODIES the ’70s like Jordache Jeans, and very few people embody hotness better than Elizabeth Hurley. The model-actress-tabloid fodder has been announced as the face of the denim line’s new advertising campaign, set to debut next month. In the ads, she wears the high-end Jordache Vintage line (available here) and the Jordache Legacy line, which will launch exclusively at Macy’s in the fall. The ads were shot by photographer Michael Thompson and pretty much just show Hurley being really skinny and hot with absolutely gigantic hair. And there’s a horse, too.

» VIVE LE LIP BALM: Cosmetics with French names just have a certain cache, no? Even better than a tongue twister of an appellation is a product that works as well as Naume Prodigieux Levres from Nuxe ($23, amazon.com), an SPF 15 lip balm made of shea butter, mango butter and sweet almond oil. The taste alone — a sweet, tropical, coconutty flavor — was lickably delicious. The formula was also super-rich and felt nourishing without gumming up the lips with sticky goop. Lips also looked more hydrated, thanks to a formula that sinks in and traps the moisture that naturally evaporates. While the color was a bit frosty, we found that the gentle shimmer worked fine over regular lip color.
