American Idol: Kris Allen, Allison Iraheta Come for a Visit

February 22, 2010

THIS SEASON’S VERY FIRST live results show will boast appearances by two of last season’s luminaries — a typically unsubtle reminder from the producers that regular folks do, in fact, shoot to stardom thanks to a stint on “Idol.”

Season eight winner Kris Allen and fourth runner-up Allison Iraheta will help to fill time between the dimming of lights and shattering of dreams Thursday, reports Entertainment Weekly. Iraheta will perform her new singleScars,” EW says, and Allen will sing and stump for a group that’s raising money for earthquake victims in Haiti.

It’s always nice to see how the recent graduates are all grown up. As long as they’re not as terrible as Carly Smithson and Michael Johns were at this time last year when they sucked the remaining life out of the nearly mummified oldie “The Letter.”

Apologies for the video quality below — apparently very few people decided to save this stinker of a performance for posterity.
