Silver Spring: $1,405

Studio: 8750 Georgia Ave., Apt. 107B, Silver Spring

This glossy high-rise (lots of granite, lots of chrome) in the heart of downtown Silver Spring is just steps from the Metro. What it lacks in character, it makes up for in amenities — rooftop pool, free WiFi in the common rooms, hang-out spaces and free morning coffees. The 510-square-foot studio is narrow, with only two windows. But there is a breakfast nook along with two walk-in closets. Appliances are new, with sleek black countertops, a dishwasher and wood floors. (Listed by Capital Brokers Group)

Adams Morgan: $1,525

Studio: 2714 Quarry Road NW, Apt. 802

The location — at the nexus of Columbia Heights, Adams Morgan and Mount Pleasant — is unbeatable, though it’s a bit of a walk to the Metro. This 400-square-foot studio is surprisingly roomy, with hardwood floors, big closets and six windows (though the view — of a neighboring building — is less than ideal). The kitchen is tucked away and boasts slick new appliances like a dishwasher and disposal. There is also a walk-in closet and small hallway at the studio’s entrance. (Listed by Borger)
