D.C. Music Download isn’t just another music blog, it’s a cheerleader for Washington’s music scene. “[This] city is one that is often overlooked for its arts and culture,” says Stephanie Williams, the site’s founder and managing editor. “Inhabitants and visitors often don’t care to seek homegrown music efforts.” That’s where Williams and her staff come in. On Saturday, D.C. Music Download (dcmusicdownload.com) celebrates its second anniversary with a birthday bash at the 9:30 Club that will double as a showcase of four local bands. We’ve got the skinny on each of the handpicked acts.
