Low interest in Maryland’s governor race is on today’s cover

The primary is only a week away, but Maryland voters don’t seem too interested in the race for their next governor. A recent Washington Post poll discovered that half of registered voters admit they aren’t paying attention to the election. On top of that, turnout is expected to be low — possibly historically so. What’s with the waning interest?
