Crumbs Bake Shop, America’s largest cupcake chain, announced Monday the closing of all of its 48 stores. The darling of the dessert world, cupcakes burst onto the scene in 2008 but have been falling from adoration since 2011. But local bakeries insist the treats aren’t going to fade away.
