Felicia Sonmez is a political reporter for The Washington Post, currently covering the 2012 campaign.
She serves on the Standing Committee of Correspondents and in July 2010 was named a Paul Miller Washington Reporting Fellow by the National Press Foundation.
Felicia joined The Post in May 2010 as a blogger for The Fix, Chris Cillizza’s politics blog, where she covered House, Senate and gubernatorial races. In late 2010, she launched 2chambers, The Post’s blog covering the 112th Congress, where she chronicled political and policy battles including the 2011 government shutdown fights and debt ceiling showdown.
Before joining The Post, Felicia was an associate editor and staff writer at National Journal’s The Hotline and covered the 2008 presidential race for The Asahi Shimbun, Japan's leading daily newspaper.
A native of Hackensack, New Jersey, Felicia graduated from Harvard University in 2005 with a degree in Government. From 2006-2007, she taught English and speechwriting as a Princeton-in-Asia fellow at China Foreign Affairs University in Beijing.
She is a frequent guest on TV and radio and has appeared on CNN, MSNBC, Fox News Channel, C-SPAN, CBS and NPR.
