Path to Power

A native of Washington's Snohomish County, Larsen was born in 1965.

Larsen graduated from Pacific Lutheran University before earning a master's degree at the University of Minnesota in 1990.

The Issues

Larsen voted with his party 97.5 percent of the time during the 110th Congress.

In June 2009, Larsen criticized President Obama's desire to hold off on adopting a new transportation funding bill, with the previous $326 billion transportation funding bill scheduled to expire in September 2009. While the administration and Senate leaders advocated an 18-month stop gap measure, Larsen pushed for authoring a $450 billion funding bill immediately.

Larsen and Rep. Mark Kirk (R-Ill.) are co-chairs of the U.S.-China Working Group.

Larsen was one of eight congressmen who joined President Obama in an October 2009 basketball game on a converted White House tennis court.
