The weekly ’95 Live parties at Steve’s Bar Room delivered old-school sets from hip-hop to rave to indie dropped by some of the top DJs in the game, including Cuzzin B of Tru School and Baltimore Club lord Scottie B, and hot-shot locals Harry Hotter, Dirty Hands and Geometrix. ’95 Live went on hiatus when Steve’s close earlier this year, but it’s blazing back this week at the Sweet Spot, the cozy, stripped-down electronic music club on 19th Street NW. Kicking off the new-look event is Cuzzin B, whose True School parties have helped set the standard for what a hip-hop party should be. There’s no cover or door pressure, and $4 vodka drinks all night.
