David Guas, along with D.C.'s Chapter of Les Dames d'Escoffier (an organization of professional women in the fields of food, drink and hospitality), are hosting a party and dinner at the Bayou Bakery on Monday. For $55, you can see cooking demonstrations, listen to a chat on New Orleans holiday traditions, and then eat, dance and hear the music of jazz quartet Laissez Foure. On Tuesday the restaurant continues the party by offering oysters, crawfish etouffee, gumbo and traditional cream cheese stuffed king cakes. Most dishes are $7.
