Euronet's black-tie party -- the "License to Thrill Around the World Gala" -- includes a number of 007-themed international areas through the Washington Plaza hotel on Thomas Circle: a Montenegro casino with mock gambling; a Caribbean-themed room with DJs spinning tropical rhythms; an Icelandic martini bar with ice luges; and other rooms representing New York, London, Istanbul and other cities, with cocktails, food and entertainment inspired by each, plus a singles mixer.
Basic tickets start at $119 (rising incrementally to $159 as the date draws closer) and include themed buffets in most rooms and open bar from 9:30 to 1:30. VIP tickets provide access to a seven-hour premium open bar (better spirits and champagne) and a three-course dinner, which begins at 7:30. Those holding the expensive Presidential VIP ticket have access to a special penthouse lounge, a top-shelf open bar, free-flowing Taittinger champagne and midnight crepes.
