This event came highly recommended to us by a friend who attended last year. We attended with a group of 11 meaning we paid approx $1,500 to attend this event. We waited in line for over an hour just to pick up our tickets at check in. There were about 3 people working the check-in with about 500 in line. Once at the party we were greeted with our first of MANY 45 minute waits for a drink. The waits for watered down drinks continued to be 45 min+ and we were less than please to learn that they had run out of champagne AND vodka by 10:30! Food was crap and the wait for that was 45 min as well. I would not recommend this event to ANYONE who would actually like to drink or eat next NYE.
Notice that the reviews for this 007 nye event in 07-08 are pretty decent, but the ones from this year (08-09) are not. First, the good: nice decor, good music, funny impersonaters, good entertainment. Next, the iffy: the buffets were just okay, the desserts tasted like they were from Costco. Here's what was bad though: no one seemed to be running the event. My husband and I had no idea what to do about the parking situation (the event website said there would be some available for 12 bucks). When we arrived in, there were only about ten bartenders TOTAL for 2,000+ people. We waited in lines for absolutely everything. We paid 300 dollars for this event and didn't think we got our money's worth.

This event was so poorly planned. You had to wait 30 minutes at a time for a drink so we never even got a chance to dance a single dance. And then when we finally got to the bar they were out of vodka, rum and other common liquors. In order to get anything to drink you had to wait in that line, even soda. They didn't even have bottled water. All the pictures and planned events had such long lines it was impossible to do any of them. Such a disapointment for the amount of money spent.
As a James Bond “groupie" I loved the gorgeous red Ferrari that sat next to the Difficult Run Jazz Band …the band rocked the house all night and brought in the New Year…great music, Russia, non-stop drinks, dancing, Iceland, casino, costumes and lots of eye candy…a super night!
The highliht of the evening was an 18 piece "big band". Dancing to live music was a special thrill...this band could play it all. I will return this year.
I have been a huge fan of all Euronet parties, but the "License to Thrill Around the World Gala" is my favorite. It is a great way to celebrate the New Year with your friends, loved one or just by yourself. A number of different themed international areas through the Hilton Alexandria hotel make this party unique and special. I love the big 18 members' band, good food and lot of interesting activities. It is definitively the way to spend your last night in this year!!!!
I am a huge Bond fan and I have gone to this party with friends...it's definitely an unforgettable night to be a Bond Girl femme fatale. Lots of very cool 007 posters and decorations...and smooth and organized for check in. No issues to park in the past and I met a bunch of fun people. I am going again (just got my dress - Yeah!) My favorite room was Iceland - cool ice sculptures and vibt, with Latin Caribbean second and India third, All the DJ's rocked so I only went to England where the orchestra was for the midnight Times Square countdown. Way cool was the red Ferrari - hope they bring that back or get an Aston Martin there this year.
