Going Out Guide Happy Hour

'

Editorial Review

If you go out on St. Patrick's Day, you probably won't get to experience what some of the best Irish pubs are really like. To deal with the hubbub of the March 17 crowds, many bars limit menus and service. So for our March happy hour, we invite you to hang out with the Gurus and soak up the St. Patrick's Day spirit -- without the madness that ensues the following week.

For entertainment, look for an Irish dance performance at 7 p.m. and live Celtic rock from the band 40 Thieves.

While supplies last, there will be free food, including mini burgers, spinach dip, fresh veggies, potato skins and smoked salmon with brown bread.

Drink specials include $4 Guinness and Smithwick pints, $4 rail drinks and $12 pitchers of Land Shark, Shocktop Belgium Wheat, Rolling Rock, Fordham Lager, Bud, Bud Light, Starr Hill IPA and Old Dominion Spring Buck. Michael Collins Irish whiskey is offering a free whiskey tasting, and when you buy a Guinness, you can get a hands-on lesson from Guinness staff in how to "Pour the Perfect Pint."

When you come in, sign up for our free raffle: we'll be giving away two $50 gift certificates to Ireland's Four Fields, three pairs of tickets to ShamrockFest at RFK Stadium on March 13 and one pair of tickets to "The Little Shop of Horrors" at Ford's Theatre on March 19.
