Hipster Camp

Pool party

Editorial Review

We can't tell whether this is ironic: Brightest Young Things, the Web site with the highest hipster quotient in Washington, is hosting a pool party called "Hipster Camp" on Saturday at the Capitol Skyline pool. Feeling nostalgic for the early 2000s? Buddy Holly glasses, trucker hats and "ironic T-shirts" are the suggested dress code. (Back issues of Vice Magazine can probably offer a few suggestions.) DJs will spin indie rock and dance tunes you probably won't recognize, as well as B-sides and remixes by bands you may have heard of, so download the Shazam app for your iPhone and prepare to impress your friends by identifying the Pretentious Version of LCD Soundsystem's "Yeah." There will also be a Ping-Pong tournament, because, well, you know. Irony, or something. The $15 cover includes a burger and all the pool time you need. Get there early because the best deck chairs go fast.
