A night that lives up to its name with globe-trotting locals, long-time fixtures and great DJs you haven't heard of -- yet.
Hometown Heroes is a party that’s all about house music: Local DJs spinning their favorite tunes in the no-frills Trinidad and Tobago Clubhouse on upper Georgia Avenue NW. (It’s basically a banquet hall with a killer soundsystem on two levels and a kitchen that makes an awesome rum punch.) The main room features Juan Zapata of East Coast Boogiemen, Chris Burns, Joe L. and Kev Funk all night, while the dark-and-dirty basement features DJs Erictronica, Ray Casil and Stepan spinning percolating “future bass” tunes from 10 to midnight, followed by Jubilee and Rosario taking over with deeper grooves until 4 a.m. As always, the party is 18-and-older and costs $10.
