Rustico Oktobeerfest

Editorial Review

At least 30 seasonal beers will be offered on draft at Rustico's third-annual OctoBEERfest, along with food from Rustico and its sister restaurants (Birch & Barley, Columbia Firehouse, Tallula, Eatbar, Evening Star Cafe, Vermilion and Buzz). Beer geeks can compare the autumn brews of both the Oktoberfest and pumpkin varieties. The Bruery, Schlafly and Left Hand are among the breweries sending kegs.

The beer itself should be enough of a draw, but there's also a stage for local bands, a "Bubble Lounge" with sparkling wine (for adults) and bubble blowers (for kids), and pumpkin decorating, a moon bounce and face painting to keep the children happy.

Unlike some other Oktoberfest parties, the beers here are a la carte, so expect to pay $5 to $8 per glass. The good news: Bike cabs will be ferrying guests to and from the nearby Braddock Road Metro station so you don't have to worry about drinking and driving.
