Musicians and fans love the sound system and reverent atmosphere at this premier spot for blues, folk and country acts. Talking will get you shushed, and smoking is not allowed in the concert hall.

Was pleasantly surprised by the Birchmere. It was, in my opinion, the perfect place to listen to music. Relaxed, clean, and every seat had a view. The crowd was mellow and respectful. Plus the food was another surprise. A little on the expensive side, but everything was delicious, and generous portions. Would go back in a heartbeat!
They get great bands, and I love that they start on time. But the seating is poorly arranged, and the lack of assigned seats makes it difficult. Add in the prohibition on anything that might make noise (I LIKE a listening space. I hate a morgue.), and it just doesn't do it.
