A classic Irish pub tucked away a few blocks from the Cleveland Park Metro, the Four Green Fields -- known as the 4 P's until a 2006 name change -- is packed with tables, stained glass and paintings of Irish country scenes. Diners will hear the occasional brogue but are more likely to hear young career-trackers blowing off steam.

Guinness dominates the bar and menu, serving as a marinade for beef skewers as well as the flavoring agent for an open-faced burger on a potato pancake. The chicken wings are tasty but short on fire. The real winner, however, is the piping hot chicken pot pie, delicately flavored and topped with a heap of mashed potatoes instead of a traditional crust.

The perfect spot for a post-work wind-down or a weekend kickoff, bring a table's worth of friends for substantial food and a few laughs. Any singles in your group will not be alone.

If you appreciate the occasional Irish sing-along, you should have a rollicking good time, chowing on bar food and singing and dancing to live Irish music. By far, the bar staff draws the best Guinness in town.
