In my opinion there is no better way to party than on a free guestlist. Skeeter (From Love Fridays) has a free til 12 list over at Lux now.....the party is amazing. Hit Skeeter up at Scott@Suite202dc.com and he'll make sure you have a great time!!
I went on a sunday for memorial day and had a great time. The music was good and the bartenders were hooking up the drinks! I will definitely come check it out with my girls real soon.
I went to Lux a couple Fridays ago on a whim. it has a $20 cover (i think they charge 20 for parking too but i'm unsure). the 1st floor played latin music, the 2nd played top40 and techno. 3rd floor played whatever he wanted and did a great job, i don't even remember going to the last floor! the 1st floor bar messed up my drink twice, i went upstairs and was served by Alicia. much better service. she apologized for her colleague downstairs and told me it was her 1st night.by the 3rd or 4th drink i was able to order by making eye contact. her service made the evening. also noteworthy; security stopped an altercation before it erupted. good job. the atmosphere was high energy, i liked look of the place but it could use more seating.~Lennon
First and foremost, I want to say that I wanted to have my milestone birthday at a club. I started looking for a club that was 21 and over, classy and that played the music that I wanted. Note, I started looking for clubs that fit this descritption more then a month in advance. I chose luxe after visiting the club twice and they told me what I was getting for my money. Well, I want to tell you that, it was the worst birthday ever, first of all everything that I was told over a month ago was completely changed at the door when I got there, the manager laughed in my face when i told him, what I was told about what I paid for, and after I paid $500 for the vip area, they still had my guest pay after, I was told that they be free before 12
Honestly, I have been to all clubs in DC, but this one is one of the worse ever, safety-wise. The promoter of this club is no one other than Abdul from H2O. His former club was shut down due to repetitive violence in the club leaving 1 person dead and two seriously injured within less than a year. There is nothing luxurious in LUX LOUNGE, the place is extremely guetto, too small and overly crowded. There are no places to sit, no VIP room because the place is too small. I am honestly worried because the evacuation would be a real disaster hazard if there was a fire or incident, there is only one way to move around up and down and the stairs are extremely narrow and can't handle two-way traffic. Summer time there would be horrible !!
My BF's family decided to surprise my friend with a birthday party there. It was all cool until Raheem Devaughn's security denied us access to our own table. We had to get club security to escort us to our table. After that little incident everything was cool, the owner even gave us a bottle of champagne and apologized. However I do have one major concern, The fourth floor dance floor. While partying I noticed how the floor was a little shaky! Not too comforting on a packed night. Overall, the club was cool, just make sure you visit all 4 levels. You are sure to have an experience to remember. (That is of course if you can.)
